چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the linear stability analysis for laminar-turbulent transition region high-Reynolds-number instabilities boundary layer flow on a rotating disk. This investigation considers axial along surface-normal direction, by studying analytical expressions steady solution, laminar, incompressible and inviscid fluid due disk in presence uniform injection suction. Essentially, physical problem represents entrainment into from flow, which transferred spinning surface azimuthal radial directions. In addition, through formation spiral vortices, instability visualised develops nature. To end, study illustrates that combining suction together may act stabilize modes.

Boundary layer flow beneath a uniform free stream permeable continuous moving surface in a nanofluid

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce a boundary layer analysis for the fluid flow andheat transfer characteristics of an incompressible nanofluid flowing over a permeable isothermalsurface moving continuously. The resulting system of non-linear ordinary differential equations issolved numerically using the fifth–order Runge–Kutta method with shooting techniques usingMatlab and Maple s...

Vortex-Speed Selection Within the Rotating-Disk Boundary Layer

A theoretical investigation into the vortex-speed selection within the rotating-disk boundary layer is conducted. Two methods are used which are different to previous investigations in the literature and enable analysis of a particular vortex speed with respect to the rotating surface. Using these methods (together with arguments based on critical Reynolds numbers, unstable parameter ranges and...

Viscous modes within the compressible boundary-layer flow due to a broad rotating cone

We investigate the effects of compressibility andwall cooling on the stationary, viscous (Type II) instability mode within the 3D boundary layer over rotating cones with half-angle greater than 40◦. The stationary mode is characterised by zero shear stress at the wall and a triple-deck solution is presented in the isothermal case. Asymptotic solutions are obtained which describe the structure o...

The centrifugal instability of the boundary-layer flow over a slender rotating cone in an enforced axial free stream

In this study, a new centrifugal instability mode, which dominates within the boundary-layer flow over a slender rotating cone in still fluid, is used for the first time to model the problem within an enforced oncoming axial flow. The resulting problem necessitates an updated similarity solution to represent the basic flow more accurately than previous studies in the literature. The new mean fl...
